United Dance

United Dance

United Dance is a friendly, professional dance school offering lessons in ballet, tap, modern and jazz to all ages of the community.  All classes are taught by Lucy Bishop who is a qualified teacher with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD).  Lucy is also a CDET Approved Teacher with the Council for Dance Education and Training and has been awarded the Council’s certificate of good professional practice.

Pre-school Dance

Young children love to move. Through movement children develop their bodies, their minds, their confidence and their ability to communicate and express.

United Dance's pre-school classes specifically cater for children from two and a half years until they start school. Pre-school classes develop basic dance skills through fun and imagination and develop a strong base on which to build their future dance training. Whilst learning dance movements children also learn key skills such as listening, taking turns and dancing together.

Classes for Children

United Dance offers lessons in ballet, tap, modern and jazz.  Students develop self-confidence, poise, co-ordination and musicality in a fun, creative yet highly professional environment. All students are treated as individuals whether they want to learn dance for fun, to gain confidence or towards a possible future career in dance and we will tailor each student’s training to their needs. Whilst treating all students as individuals we also believe in giving everyone the same opportunities and welcome those of all abilities and with all levels of experience into the school.

Classes for Adults

We currently offer classes in ballet and tap to adults of all ages and abilities.  Everyone’s welcome whether you’ve danced before or never set foot in a dance studio.  If you’re still not sure whether to come along and give it a go maybe this quote from one of our adult ballet students might change your mind….

"classes are fun, not stuffy but the key thing is the quality of the teaching is excellent. Lucy can run a class for mixed levels of skill and knowledge and everybody gets plenty of attention and learns something in every class.”
